Xbox Game Pass is renewing its catalog again during the second half of August 2026. Microsoft has confirmed the arrival of 9 new games to the service, although subscribers will also have to say goodbye to six other titles soon.
Among the new additions, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy stands out, the new adventure from Asobo Studio that expands the A Plague Tale universe.
New games coming to Game Pass
The second half of August brings quite a variety of proposals. Subscribers can find everything from action and adventure games to more relaxed experiences.
The announced titles are:
- BlazBlue Entropy Effect X — August 19
- Relooted — August 19
- Starsand Island — August 20
- Aerial_Knight's DropShot — August 25
- Blood Dungeon — August 25
- Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy — August 27
- Young Suns — August 31
- Shelldiver — September 1
- Vapor World: Over the Mind — August 19
Availability depends on the game and may include Xbox Series X|S, PC, cloud, and other devices compatible with the Xbox ecosystem.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is one of the main highlights
Among all the new additions, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy stands out especially.
Asobo Studio's new title expands the A Plague Tale universe with an original story that focuses on a more action and adventure-oriented experience.
The game will arrive on Game Pass on August 27, and will be available to play from the cloud, Xbox Series X|S, compatible handheld devices, and PC.
There are also new features for Premium subscribers
Game Pass Premium members will have access to several additions during these days, including BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, Relooted, and Starsand Island.
The latter will arrive on August 20 and will also be available on cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Six games will leave Game Pass
As is usual with catalog updates, it's not all good news.
Microsoft has also confirmed the departure of six video games from the service.
The titles leaving Game Pass are:
- Another Crab's Treasure
- I Am Your Beast
- Neon Abyss
- One Lonely Outpost
- The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt - Remastered Edition
- NBA 2K26
Most will leave the catalog on August 31, although there is one important exception: NBA 2K26 will remain available until September 6.
What should subscribers do?
If you have any of these games pending, August might be a good time to finish them.
Especially in the case of The Witcher 3, which has a huge amount of content and may require many hours to complete its story and side quests.
Game Pass members can also take advantage of the discount associated with their subscription to purchase games that leave the catalog and keep them after their departure.
