Xbox Responds to Rumors About the Future of Game Pass

Game Pass could be preparing major changes, but Xbox has not confirmed any of the claims currently circulating on social media. In recent hours, a rumor claimed that Microsoft may be planning new subscription tiers for 2027, including an ad-supported option and another without advertising.

The report also mentioned possible changes to access to day-one releases, cloud gaming, and family subscriptions. However, these details come from an unverified source and do not represent official Microsoft announcements.

Xbox does not confirm new plans

A company spokesperson explained that Xbox constantly tests different Game Pass offers to understand what works best in each market. Even so, the spokesperson clarified that there are currently no changes to announce and no plans have been canceled.

The response neither fully confirms nor denies the speculation about 2027, but it does establish an important assurance for current users.

Day-one games will not change

Xbox stated that there will be no changes to games that have already been announced to arrive on Game Pass Ultimate from day one. This means upcoming confirmed releases will keep their current plans, at least according to the information available.

The rumors also mention different prices for ad-supported plans, ad-free plans, cloud access, and multiplayer. However, Microsoft has not confirmed any of those figures.

What could happen in 2027?

For now, the only official information is that Xbox continues to evaluate different approaches for its service. The company could announce changes later, but any details about pricing, advertising, or changes to day-one releases should be treated as speculation.

¿Qué opinas de los posibles cambios en Game Pass y qué debería mantener Xbox sin importar el precio?
