One of the most beloved games in Nintendo history finally has a date for its return. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is coming back completely rebuilt, and this time it will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo confirmed that the remake will launch on November 5, 2026, after showing a substantial amount of gameplay for the first time during the Nintendo Direct celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda.

Ocarina of Time like we have never seen it before
Although the adventure keeps the essence of the Nintendo 64 classic, this new version goes for a much more modern visual reconstruction.
Link will have updated movement and controls, a fully free camera, and new exploration possibilities. There will also be voiced cinematics for the characters, while Link will retain his familiar lack of spoken dialogue.
Nintendo has also added new features related to the ocarina, along with tools intended to make the adventure more accessible for today's players.
And Nintendo Switch 2 is getting a special edition
The release will be accompanied by something collectors have been waiting for: the first Nintendo Switch 2 special edition dedicated to The Legend of Zelda.
The console will feature a design inspired by the series, with Triforce details, dark colors, and gold elements on both the Joy-Con and the dock.
But there is one important detail: the special console will not include the Ocarina of Time remake. Its launch is planned for October 29, 2026, a few days before the game arrives.
Nintendo is also preparing a Pro Controller and other Zelda-inspired accessories.

And this is the interesting part: Nintendo is betting on one of its most important classics to keep driving Switch 2 during one of the strongest periods of the year.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches on November 5, 2026.
