Gran Turismo 7 Is Preparing One of Its Biggest Updates Yet With Spec IV

Gran Turismo 7 still has plenty of fuel left in the tank. Polyphony Digital has just announced Spec IV, one of the biggest updates the game will receive, arriving free in two parts during 2026.

The update will accompany the celebration of 30 years of Gran Turismo and will be split into two releases: the first arrives in October and the second in December.

Two circuits that will make some noise

The first major addition will be Sportsland SUGO, a Japanese circuit known for its elevation changes and technical layout.

But the real wave of nostalgia will arrive in December with Autumn Ring, a classic track that originally appeared in Gran Turismo and will return to Gran Turismo 7 with its traditional layout plus a much longer new configuration.

For veteran players, this return has special meaning: it is not simply about adding another track, but about bringing back a piece of the franchise's history.

12 cars and new ways to compete

Spec IV will add 12 new cars, six in October and another six in December. Polyphony Digital has not yet officially revealed all of these vehicles, so more announcements are still to come.

And the new features do not stop there.

Shuffle Races will arrive, with vehicles selected at random, along with Online Drift Trials, which will let players compete by testing their control and precision while drifting.

Family Mode will also be added, designed so children, beginners, and experienced players can enjoy Gran Turismo 7 together.

Polyphony is listening to the community

The update will also include new driving experiences, a Car Concierge system, improvements for viewing vehicles, and a new difficulty level for Power Pack.

With Gran Turismo approaching its 30th anniversary, Spec IV feels like more than a content update: it is a celebration of the series' history and, at the same time, a way to keep Gran Turismo 7 alive.

And we still do not know which six cars will arrive in December.
